Eleven provider categories, nine now onboarding

Finlane opened nine additional provider categories beyond banking-as-a-service and card issuing, from identity and fraud monitoring to FX, lending and treasury.

Finlane launched with two categories: banking-as-a-service and card issuing. They are the right place to start — they are where the licence questions are hardest and the comparison work is worst — but very few builds stop there. A neobank needs identity verification and transaction monitoring. A marketplace needs payouts and FX. A spend management platform needs issuing, a ledger and lending.

Nine further categories are now open for provider onboarding:

  • Payment processing
  • KYC, KYB & identity
  • Fraud & AML monitoring
  • Open banking
  • Core banking & ledger
  • Lending & credit decisioning
  • FX & cross-border
  • Crypto & stablecoin infrastructure
  • Treasury & embedded investing

What "onboarding" means

Providers can register and be assigned to these categories today. Buyers will see them as procurement categories once there is enough supply in each for an RFP to get real responses — publishing an RFP into an empty category helps nobody.

Category pages across the site say plainly which state each one is in. We would rather show an honest "onboarding" label than imply a depth of coverage that does not exist yet.

For providers

If you operate in one of these categories, register your profile. Categories are assigned by review rather than self-declared, so the capability profile you submit is what determines where you are matched.

Try it

Everything above is live in the product today. Publishing an RFP is free for buyers.
